Bhushan Kumar is one delighted and sentimental man these days. The man who has turned T-Series into IndiaâÂÂs top music company has added another feather in his crowded cap. The company has now acquired the music rights of Karan JoharâÂÂs forthcoming film, âÂÂShort Term ShaadiâÂÂ, starring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor with Randhir Kapoor, Boman Irani and Ram Kapoor among others.
It is the first time in the history of T-Series that it has acquired the music rights of a film by Karan JoharâÂÂs Dharma Productions. For Bhushan Kumar, the development has a sentimental value too. The head honcho of the music giant has always been an ardent admirer of Karan JoharâÂÂs films and had always looked forward to such an association.
Produced by Karan Johar and directed by Shakun Batra, âÂÂShort Term Shaadiâ is an out and out romantic comedy that has Imran playing a unique role â that of a highly conservative, fussy architect, with a rigid attitude. He falls in love with Kareena Kapoor, a liaison which changes him completely. Kareena, on the other hand, plays a hairstylist who teaches him about life and love. The film takes place in a compressed time frame of a little more than a week and deals with how his character changes within that short span of time. It has been shot in Las Vegas and India.
âÂÂI have always loved the films made by Karan Johar, not only for their content and aesthetic appeal, but also for their beautiful music, which has always been their major strength. We are delighted to have acquired the music rights of Short Term Shaadi. And we hope that this is just the beginning of a long creative association,â said Bhushan Kumar.
T-Series already boasts of some of the hits under its banner; like âÂÂGhajiniâÂÂ, âÂÂGolmaal ReturnsâÂÂ, âÂÂOm Shanti OmâÂÂ, âÂÂJab We Metâ to name a few. The companyâÂÂs latest association with Dharma Productions is being seen as a meeting of two giants that could take the industry by storm.
